Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is ideal for nurses who thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. As a travel nurse, you will support the healthcare team in providing intermediate-level care to patients who require closer monitoring than a medical‑surgical unit but are not in critical condition.

This travel assignment is open only to candidates who are not permanent residents of Arizona.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to PCU patients, including continuous cardiac monitoring and frequent assessments
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and respond to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and post‑discharge care
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact license preferred or ability to obtain Arizona licensure)
Minimum of 1–2 years of recent PCU, step‑down, or telemetry experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and protocols
Day shift with potential weekend and holiday rotation
Contract length typically 13 weeks (with possible extension)
