The Role
Part researcher, part teacher, part lawyer, part mentor, part technical expert, full‑time problem solver; an EAR Regulatory Consultant is a senior technical and regulatory advisory role within the Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) division of Gulfstream’s Innovation, Engineering, and Flight (IEF) organization.

In this role, you will work directly with the FAA and the company’s ODA Engineering Unit Members (EARs) to provide regulatory guidance and establish Methods of Compliance. Engagement with Industry working groups is also encouraged. You will be part of a small team with big responsibility and will have the opportunity to grow and build relationships company-wide and externally with your FAA counterparts.

Responsibilities

Oversight of unit member appointments and performance, including establishment of qualifications, review of pre‑appointment development plans, support of post‑appointment performance and associated process improvements.

Provide detailed regulatory compliance oversight and counsel to unit members. Serve as the primary source of complex regulatory interpretation for associates and other stakeholders.

Serve as the interface between unit members, the Company, and the regulatory authority for complex compliance issues.

Define and implement changes in the ODA Procedures Manual, processes, organization, industry standards and regulatory guidance when appropriate.

Conduct independent regulatory compliance research, develop innovative methods or procedures, and champion new technologies for Gulfstream ODA processes.

Provide leadership and regulatory oversight/direction for ODA required audits.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Lead interactions with FAA and Gulfstream personnel to establish trusting collaboration between Applicant, ODA and FAA.

Work within the various software applications utilized throughout the corporation, including Microsoft Office tools.

Current or previous qualification as an FAA Designee, appropriate to the discipline, desired.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experienced with regulatory compliance to 14 CFR Part 25 either as a designee (DER, ODA UM or Administrator) or with FAA work experience.

Self‑driven and excellent planning and organizational skills; capable of researching regulatory topics deeply and thoroughly.

Effective communicator with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

Upstanding, ethical, and conscientious; high degree of integrity reflecting on the ODA.

Cooperative, tactful, and diplomatic when dealing with FAA, ODA, Gulfstream, and the industry.

15+ years of certification experience or 20 years of broad engineering experience (with up to 2 years credit for a master’s, 4 years for a Ph.D.).

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, or related curriculum required.

Fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Aviation Sciences, or related curriculum required. 15+ years of certification experience or 20 years broad engineering experience.

Work Schedule
Position requires location in Savannah, GA. Shift is flexible: 8‑hour shift Mon‑Fri, 10‑hour shift Mon‑Thu, or 9‑hour shift Mon‑Thu + 4 hours Fri.
