Pre-Registration Specialist
Position Summary
Austin Retina Associates is seeking a responsible, self-motivated individual to assist in providing unparalleled patient satisfaction while collecting and entering Medical insurance, Providing good faith estimates, and other office duties supporting the patient access department.
Duties/Responsibilities
Collect and enter insurance data for patients derived from chats, phone calls, or emails
Update patient demographic information
Create and provide good faith estimates including self-pay or insured options through text, email, or written document
Post patient payments
Open & distribute mail, upload and communicate fax correspondence, and enter all authorizations
Will scan and input data into EMR/EHR systems including AMD and MDI
Update referring physician information into EHR
Maintain daily and weekly reports
Answer incoming and transfer call
Other duties as assigned
Required Attributes
Master multiple computer systems including Google, Microsoft Office, Teams, data management
Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with referring physicians, coworkers and patients
Strong organizational and follow through skills while accommodating competing demands and priorities
Preferred Attributes
Demonstrated effectiveness showing courtesy, diligence, integrity, and teamwork in alignment with ARA core values
Excellent organizational and time management skills ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner satisfactory to the organization with ability to independently manage workflow
Strong interpersonal skills including effective listening, clear communication, effective customer problem resolution with warm encouraging demeanor
Bilingual in Spanish
Experienced with health insurance verification and physician referrals tracking
Position Details
Schedule approximately 7-4 or 8-5 during weekdays
Hourly pay, FLSA non-exempt, eligible for overtime
Physical Demands and Requirements
Prolonged standing and walking, some sitting, talking and hearing both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle and feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 10 pounds on occasion. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes viewing multiple computer screens, close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Viewing images and operating computer devices constantly.
