Job Description – Worship Arts Faculty

Position Overview

The Worship Arts Teacher collaborates closely with the Head of Bible, Discipleship, and Spiritual Life, as well as the Director of the Institute for Arts and Innovation, to design and implement a dynamic worship arts program. This role focuses on discipling and developing emerging student worship leaders through high school performing arts programming, while supporting the school's broader spiritual life. This position reports directly to the Head of Bible, Discipleship, and Spiritual Life and works in partnership with the Director of Arts and Innovation.

Qualifications

Demonstrates a vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by active involvement in a local church and a lifestyle of service and discipleship.

Missional Alignment:

Fully supports and upholds the school’s statement of faith and mission.

Gifted Educator:

An engaging and creative communicator of Scripture and the gospel, with the ability to effectively teach and lead students.

Relevant Experience:

5-7 years of worship leadership experience, and 3-5 years of experience teaching and leading students in worship.

Administrative Strength:

Highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Musical Training and Expertise:

Formal training in vocal performance and music theory; proficiency in multiple instruments; experience in music direction and leading ensembles.

Primary Responsibilities
A. Professional Growth

Maintains a thriving relationship with the Local Church.

B. Program Leadership and Instruction
Worship Arts Program Development

Design and lead the Worship Arts class, including:

Theology and philosophy of worship

Leadership development for student worship teams

Rehearsal preparation for chapel services

Integration of worship elements into high school chapels

Chapel and Worship Leadership

Coordinate and lead all musical and worship elements for weekly high school chapels.

Oversee student bands and vocalists, cultivating excellence and spiritual depth in worship leadership.

School-Wide Worship Support

Coordinate worship teams for TK–12 in-service gatherings and devotional events.

Lead or support worship for annual staff retreat and other key school events.

Faculty Responsibilities

Participate in faculty meetings, in-service days, department meetings, and Spiritual Life team meetings.

Worship Closely with the Performing Arts Program.

Additional Responsibilities

Adhere to the spirit and policies outlined in the Oaks Christian School Faculty Handbook.

Perform other duties as assigned in support of the school’s mission and spiritual life initiatives.
