Manager Strategic Employee Relations

Position Highlights

Work location: Texas Health Resources

Core Work hours: Monday - Friday 8:00a -5:00p

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct leadership to the team, including merit and performance reviews, training, mentoring, and ongoing support of direct reports.

Manage cases submitted to Employee Relations, opening the case, assigning an investigator, and tracking through completion.

Consult investigators on investigations, review reports, and ensure allegations are addressed per Texas Health grievance policies.

Drive alignment among stakeholders to create solutions.

Use coaching, facilitation, and conflict‑resolution skills.

Model Promise Behaviors; listen deeply and influence employees and managers at all levels.

Research, create, and conduct training for HR, leaders, and employees on Employee Relations topics such as performance management, conflict resolution, grievance, and investigation processes.

Act as a trusted Business Partner, cultivating partnerships with Key Stakeholders and providing consultative services to all levels.

Lead research, development, and implementation for system initiatives; serve as project leader and change champion.

Develop and implement best practices and process documents for HR; review data and use gap analysis and SWOT to recommend improvements.

Collaborate with Strategic ER team and THR project managers on program delivery and interpretation.

Lead investigations and strategic performance management processes; oversee grievances and manage escalations.

Collaborate to develop solutions for systemic issues revealed during investigations.

Review case documentation for policy adherence; consult with legal counsel as needed.

Close cases, conduct debriefs with leaders, HR, and executive leadership.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (Required).

Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (Preferred).

Experience

6 years of relevant work experience, including:

3 years progressively responsible Employee Relations, Generalist, or HR Business Partner experience.

3 years Employee Relations experience.

1 year supervisory experience in Human Resources.

Licenses and Certifications

PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, or another nationally recognized HR certification within 2 years of hire (Required).

Skills

Analytical skills; ability to strategically use data for insights and decision influence.

Excellent coaching, facilitation, and conflict‑resolution skills.

Business and people acumen; knowledge of consulting frameworks.

Proficiency with office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel at intermediate level; Outlook at intermediate level).

Strong written and verbal communication; ability to summarize complex arguments coherently.
