Senior Business Communications Specialist

to support enterprise-wide internal communications for our client.

Location: Buffalo, NY

Duration: 12 months

Overview
This role focuses on executive messaging, employee engagement, and change management communications.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer and visual storyteller with deep experience creating executive‑level presentations and polished MarCom materials. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to translate complex business priorities into clear, compelling communications across multiple channels.

Portfolio of recent work is required prior to interview.

Key Responsibilities

Develop high-quality executive presentations for C‑suite and senior leadership audiences, translating complex business priorities into clear, compelling visuals and messaging

Create and execute internal communications supporting organizational change, employee engagement, and key business initiatives

Design polished, visually engaging MarCom materials including infographics, quick reference guides, user guides, and toolkits

Manage and enhance intranet content, improving usability and communication effectiveness

Partner with business leaders, HR, and cross‑functional teams to align messaging with strategic priorities

Lead communication planning for major announcements and enterprise initiatives

Respond to employee inquiries and support ongoing internal messaging needs

Evaluate and recommend improvements to communication channels and tools

Ensure messaging aligns with brand standards, diversity initiatives, and regulatory requirements

Develop and track communication performance metrics, including dashboards and reporting (Power BI or Tableau preferred)

Support audit and internal control standards as needed

Scope of Role

Own end‑to‑end delivery of internal communication initiatives across multiple business units

Balance strategic planning with hands‑on content development

Ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment of messaging across all internal platforms

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders

Qualifications
Required:

5+ years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, or marketing communications

Proven experience creating executive‑level presentations for senior audiences

Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills

Experience developing MarCom deliverables such as infographics, guides, and toolkits

Ability to tailor messaging for diverse enterprise audiences

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Office Suite

Portfolio or work samples demonstrating executive presentations and MarCom deliverables (infographics, guides, etc.) required prior to interview

Preferred:

Experience building communication metrics and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau

Background in financial services or large enterprise environments

Experience developing communication performance analytics

Experience supporting change management communications
