As a Project Software Engineer, you will provide **technical leadership on small to medium-sized projects**, guiding design and execution while collaborating with engineering, product, and project stakeholders. You will troubleshoot software programs for software enhancements and new products. You will also develop software tools including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools and will task yourself with determining hardware compatibility or influence hardware design.This role is hybrid out of **Mayfield Heights, OH** and reports to the **Team Lead, Software Engineering**.## Your Responsibilities* Be a **technical lead** for small to medium software projects, ensuring delivery of project goals aligned with team goals.* Guide **system- and component-level software design decisions**, balancing performance, security, robustness, schedule, and maintainability.* Manage dependencies and risks, while overseeing the planning, execution, and integration of software features.* Troubleshoot **complex functional and performance issues** across components or subsystems.* Provide **technical direction and mentorship** to engineers contributing to the project, including guidance on design approaches and implementation strategies.* Collaborate with **product management, project management, quality, and global engineering teams** to align technical solutions with requirements and timelines.* Ensure adherence to **software development lifecycle processes**, including design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and release readiness.* Contribute to and review **system-level documentation**, including design specifications, integration plans, and risk assessments.* Maintain **code quality, organization, and automation**, including test strategies and CI/CD best practices.## The Essentials – You Will Have* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant professional experience.* Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.## The Preferred – You May Also Have* **8+ years** of experience in software development using **TypeScript, NodeJS, and Angular** or comparable modern web technologies.* Demonstrated experience leading **technical aspects of software projects** beyond individual feature ownership.* Experience being a **technical lead** on small to mid-size projects or major subsystems.* Experience designing and integrating **scalable, distributed systems**.* Experience with **container technologies** (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud-native architectures.* Experience with **frontend development** in cloud-based applications.* Hands-on experience with **software development lifecycle processes**, including Agile methodologies.* Knowledge of **Agile principles** and participation in iterative planning.* Development experience with **GraphQL, Python**, or similar technologies.* Experience building and integrating platforms using multiple protocols (e.g., HTTPS, JSON, RPC, or WebSocket).* Experience configuring or guiding **build and release pipelines** using tools such as GitHub Actions and FluxCD.* Exposure to or experience in the **manufacturing or industrial automation domain**.* Experience using **generative AI tools** to improve development productivity (e.g., GitHub Copilot).## What We Offer* Health Insurance including Medical, Dental, and Vision* 401(k)* Paid Time Off* Parental and Caregiver Leave* Flexible Work Schedule, coordinated with your manager* Learn more about our benefits atThis position is part of a **job family**.
