Lead Engineering Technician
to support Advanced Power Generation (APG) projects within the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) group. This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver critical infrastructure solutions for today’s and future power needs.
The position requires strong expertise in electrical design and modeling, including duct bank design, cable tray systems, grounding, and lighting systems for advanced power generation facilities.
Work Location Requirement:
Candidates must work onsite at one of the following locations:
Overland Park, KS; Ann Arbor, MI; Houston, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Raleigh, NC; Chattanooga, TN; Chicago, IL; Jacksonville, FL; or Gaithersburg, MD.

Role Summary
The Lead Engineering Technician functions in a senior technical and leadership capacity, supporting the development of high-quality 2D and 3D engineering deliverables.
Under minimal supervision, this role:
Applies advanced electrical engineering principles and design practices
Develops and modifies design drawings using tools such as Bentley MicroStation
Ensures adherence to project budgets, schedules, and quality standards
Supports innovation and continuous improvement across engineering processes
May supervise and guide engineering technicians and support staff
Key Responsibilities
Establish, communicate, and enforce design and graphic standards
Review project requirements to determine appropriate formats and deliverables
Ensure quality and consistency across all design outputs
Coordinate deliverables across disciplines and teams
Ensure compliance with System One LLC quality assurance procedures
Monitor production for adherence to budget and schedule
Maintain drawing control systems and historical documentation
Provide support for field activities as needed
Communicate project requirements, progress, and timelines effectively
Promote collaboration and integration across engineering disciplines
Support development and enhancement of design tools and applications
Required Qualifications
Associate degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology
Minimum of 15 years of related experience
Strong experience with:
3D modeling of equipment
Duct bank design
Cable tray design
Grounding systems
Lighting systems
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Design or related technology
Experience with AGI32 lighting design software (preferred, not required)
Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and related Bentley tools
