Job Summary:
The Senior Producer, Prime leads political interviews and coverage, as well as high profile interviews, for ABC News Live’s evening news program, Prime with Linsey Davis. This role partners closely with the Prime anchor and Executive Producer on major editorial initiatives and collaborates across the news division, particularly Specialized Units and Booking, to develop impactful, scalable content, including longform storytelling.
Responsibilities:
Lead all political interviews and coverage for Prime, along with select highprofile interviews of cultural and social significance.
Work closely with the Primeanchor and Executive Producer on marquee editorial initiatives and special projects.
Collaborate across ABC News to develop largescale stories with longform and crossplatform potential.
Often oversees Primeanchor’s taped pieces, managing editorial development and execution.
Partner with Primeproducers to shape content across the full broadcast.
Write and edit scripts and interview material for both live television and taped segments.
Perform seniorlevel control room duties, including leading the newscast when needed.
Play a critical control room role during major event coverage and breaking news nights.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years experience producing live television news and highprofile interviews.
Exceptional writing skills for both live broadcast and taped content.
Strong editorial judgment and the ability to lead under deadline pressure.
Demonstrated proficiency in live TV production and control room operations.
Deep knowledge of politics and current events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Broad understanding of pop culture, entertainment, and social media, reflecting the range of interviews and stories featured on Prime.
Experience collaborating across teams and divisions on largescale editorial projects.
Ability to identify content with longform storytelling potential.
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $194,300 to $260,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
