Initial Responsibilities
Pressure vessels
(ASME coded, separators, reactors, columns)
Analyze RFQs, technical specifications, and drawings
Develop cost breakdown structures (CBS) including:
Raw materials (plates, pipes, fittings)
Fabrication and welding
Machining and testing
Painting, insulation, and packing
2. Technical Evaluation
Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, and datasheets
Ensure compliance with codes and standards such as:
ASME Section VIII (Pressure Vessels)
API standards
Client/project specifications
Identify scope gaps, risks, and assumptions
Float RFQs to vendors for bought-out items:
Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate pricing
4. Material Take-Off (MTO) & Costing
Perform detailed

from drawings and specifications
Estimate material costs based on current market rates
Account for wastage, contingency, and logistics
5. Commercial & Bid Support
Prepare techno-commercial proposals
Support tender submissions and bid clarifications
Participate in client meetings and negotiations
Coordinate with sales and project teams
6. Project Handover & Cost Control
Provide detailed cost sheets to execution team after order award
7. Risk Analysis & Value Engineering
Identify cost-saving opportunities through design optimization
Evaluate alternative materials and fabrication methods
Assess project risks and include contingencies
