Prevailing Wage Journeyman Electrician (Government Projects) Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Prevailing Wage Journeyman Electrician to join our team, focusing on government projects in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of prevailing wage requirements and expertise in electrical installations for public works projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on government-contracted projects, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage regulations.
* Interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to plan and execute electrical work.
* Adhere to safety protocols and building codes to maintain a safe working environment.
* Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and other trades to ensure project completion within established timelines.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for prevailing wage reporting.
* Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current on prevailing wage regulations, electrical code updates, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
* Valid California General Electrician Certification and Journeyman Electrician license.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a journeyman electrician, with at least 1 year working on government-contracted projects.
* Thorough understanding of prevailing wage requirements and experience complying with public works project regulations.
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations.
* Must be willing to pass GOVT background check for base clearance.
