Job Description
Bridging Communication and Community in the Green Mountains
At Mountain Views, we believe that communication is the foundation of belonging. Our schools, serving the communities of Barnard, Bridgewater, Killington, Plymouth, Reading, and Woodstock, are places where we prioritize deep connections over rigid checklists. We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for the 2026-2027 school year who wants to be more than a service provider; we want a teammate who is ready to help shape our students’ educational journeys.
The Role: A Collaborative Approach
We recognize that the best therapeutic work doesn't happen in a vacuum. To support both our students and our staff's well-being, we utilize the 3:1 Service Delivery Model.
Direct Impact (3 Weeks):
You will provide focused, direct clinical services to students across the district (PreK–12), working toward specific IEP goals in both individual and small-group settings.
Strategic Consultation (1 Week):
The fourth week of each cycle is dedicated to Consultation and Program Review. This "service-related" week allows you the time to observe students in their natural classroom environments, meet with instructional teams, and fine-tune programming without the pressure of back-to-back sessions.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluation Leadership:
Act as a vital member of our multidisciplinary evaluation teams. You won’t just run tests; you’ll help paint a comprehensive picture of a student’s strengths and needs.
Classroom Partnership:
Consult regularly with classroom teachers and interventionists. You’ll help bridge the gap between clinical goals and daily classroom instruction, ensuring strategies are woven into the student's entire day.
Holistic Assessment:
Administer and interpret a range of assessments to guide eligibility and instructional decisions.
Assistive Technology:
Guide the implementation of AT/AAC tools to ensure every student has a voice in our community.
Who You Are
We are looking for a professional who values and enjoys the variety of working across different school cultures while maintaining a unified vision for student success.
A Natural Collaborator:
You enjoy "talking shop" with special educators and interventionists to solve complex problems.
Clear Communicator:
You can explain developmental milestones and clinical data to families in a way that feels supportive and accessible.
Licensed Professional:
You hold a Master’s Degree in SLP, your ASHA CCCs, and are licensed (or eligible) to practice in Vermont schools.
Experienced:
You have at least 2 years of experience and feel comfortable navigating the nuances of Vermont special education regulations.
Why Join Mountain Views?
Working here means joining a district that respects your clinical expertise and provides the structural support—like the 3:1 model, dedicated mentor, and built-in departmental PD during contractual time—to help you do your best work. Beyond the school walls, you’ll find a community defined by its natural beauty, local food culture, and a pace of life that allows you to recharge.
Apply today to join a team that values your voice as much as the voices of the students you serve.
Position Type:
Part-Time
Salary:
$29,723 to $59,075 Per Year
Job Categories
Student Services > Speech/Language Pathologist
Job Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
Master degree preferred.
