Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 per year.
Practice Overview
Thompsonville Veterinary Clinic is a full‑service mixed animal clinic that welcomes patients in need of routine medical check‑ups, routine surgery, and preventative care. Our whole staff have years of experience treating serious conditions and offering regular pet wellness care.
We also offer a variety of services for large animal needs, including vaccinations, dewormers, Veterinary Feed Directives, and farm calls.

Our small, rural practice has a family feel; support staff is available to assist doctors in whatever manner you prefer. We treat dogs and cats, but welcome any species that can be brought into our facility (not farm calls!).
We provide in‑house exams, surgery, and lab work, and refer more complex cases to our sister practice in Marion, IL.
Essential Responsibilities
Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.
Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
Provide counsel around pet end‑of‑life care.
Maintain patients' medical records.
Ensure compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statutes, policies, and procedures.
Requirements / Qualifications
DVM or VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
Appropriate state licensure.
Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD registration.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
Ability to lift patients or carry equipment up to 25 lbs; assistance required for >25 lbs.
