Description
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:
Agency Management
Deliver key performance indicators (KPIs), including profit, growth, written premium, loss ratios, retention, and annual production goals
Track agent performance, production, and retention; provide regular reporting to leadership on agent and marketing effectiveness
Analyze performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities (Quotes, close rate, qualityetc)
Recommend and implement data-driven strategies to improve profitability and growth
Train and onboard new agents on company policies, procedures, and cross-functional operations, including Underwriting, Service Operations, and Claims.
Educate agents on company contracts, products, systems (NextPak, Union Express), commission structures, and marketing programs.
Manage agency performance by implementing improvement plans, including rehabilitation or termination, in coordination with the Regional Marketing Manager.
Collect and maintain agency profiles, including competitive intelligence and market insights.
Build and maintain strong relationships with agents through consistent communication and in-person engagement.
Maintain active file of prospective agents and recommend selection based on loss experience of agents' Companies.
Serve as liaison between agents and Company, assisting them with technical situations as well as in obtaining new and renewal business.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure agency adherence to underwriting guidelines, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Monitor for compliance risks and escalate concerns as needed
General
Partner with Regional Manager to create strategies toward achieving sales objectives and territory management.
Collaborate with Regional Manager, Manager of National Accounts, Underwriting, Actuary and other teams to ensure competitive positioning of products and operational capabilities.
Pursue continuing education with support from The Norfolk & Dedham Group to expand skill sets supporting the Company and Department and to remain apprised of the actions of competitors and disruptors.
Attend Trade Association and other industry-related meetings and conventions.
Make suggestions based on market analysis to improve company's product and enhance the company's competitive position.
Participate in and facilitate the team dynamic of the entire Marketing department.
Requirements
8 or more years of experience working in the insurance industry in marketing, claims, or underwriting. Marketing experience preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Sales driven with a high energy level
Collaborative with a customer-service mindset.
Must maintain a good driving record and have a valid and current driver's license
Independent self-starter capable of producing in both structured and unstructured settings
Ability to analyze performance data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
Proven ability to build and maintain strong agency or client relationships
Sales or business development experience
Experience driving growth, meeting production goals, or managing a book of business
Experience with CRM systems, agency management systems, or insurance platforms
Comfort presenting to groups, leading trainings, and facilitating meetings
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field.
General insurance acumen (CPCU preferred, required to pursue upon start)
