The company is currently hiring a Room Attendant.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Vacuuming, dusting, polishing, removing trash, washing, and cleaning all areas of the guest rooms and hallways;
Replacing linens on beds and making bed to hotel standards
Replenishing guest room supplies
Turn over any lost and found items to the Housekeeping Supervisor
Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment;
Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, no matter how busy or time of day
Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
Ensure security of any assigned keys and radio
Stock cleaning carts and landings with designated supplies and equipment
Clean designated areas with proper chemicals, tools, equipment and signage
Inspect conditions of the hotel for tears, rips, stains, and report damages to Supervisor.
Empty vacuum cleaner bags, replace bag, and clean machine
Proper usage of chemicals and cleaning supplies by monitoring usage, providing complete training for employees and ensuring proper labeling of hazardous supplies in accordance with OSHA regulations;
Service assigned guest rooms
Remove all dirty terry and replace with clean par to designated layout
Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up, and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain, and floor
Realign furniture to floor plan
Open all drawers/doors in check-out rooms and remove items left by guest.
Set correct time on clock and microwave;
Ensure presence of fire safety, rate cards, and DND sign. Inspect condition and replace as needed
Set thermostat to standard temperature
Ensure room odor is up to hotel standards
Update status of rooms cleaned on assignment sheet
Return and restock cart at end of shift
All other duties as assigned
Competencies:
Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, no matter how busy or time of day
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates and have the ability to handle stress and pressure while maintaining composure;
Must have the ability to resolve problems effectively and in a positive manner
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including overtime, weekends and holidays.
Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills;
Must be able to multi-task and meet deadlines;
Must have a professional and hospitable demeanor at all times
Preferred bilingual
Education & Experience:
High School or equivalent preferred
1 year of custodial / housekeeping experience preferred
Work Environment:
Under variable temperature conditions (or extreme heat or cold)
Under variable noise levels
Around fumes and/or odor hazards
Around dust and/or mite hazards
Around chemicals
Around bio-hazards
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds
Must be able to bend, stoop and reach as needed
Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time throughout shift
