Administrative Secretary 1B - Guidance/Registrar (12-Month)
Primary Responsibilities: Enroll new students - working in conjunction with the administration and the nurse Maintain student cumulative files Maintain electronic student records in eSchool Process withdrawals and associated paperwork Process senior transcripts for college entrance and scholarships Prepare a variety of complex reports including State and District-mandated reports related to assigned activities Communicate by phone and facsimile with other schools or outside agencies regarding student records Order commencement awards and diplomas Assist administration in coordination of student recognition and related duties Develop, update and maintain forms for use in the Registrar's office; order and maintain supplies for the office Assist in distribution, collection and coordination of testing materials Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications: Operation of a computer and assigned software Ability to type with accuracy a minimum of 50 words per minute. Modern office practices, procedures and equipment Applicable sections of Delaware State Education Code and other applicable laws Basic statistical and record-keeping techniques Data entry and report generation Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary Red Clay Consolidated School District policies and procedures Prepare responsible and comprehensive work in maintaining accurate student records and registering and dropping students according to established procedures Interpret, apply and explain provisions of federal, State and District regulations related to admissions and records Plan and organize work Work independently with little direction Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action Maintain records and prepare reports Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Meet schedules and time lines Project a cooperative, courteous and helpful attitude toward students, staff and the general public Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with those contacted during the performance of required duties, including school personnel, students, parents and the community Maintain regular attendance
