Floor Technician

The Floor Technician is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of all floor surfaces in a facility. This includes sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, stripping, buffing, and refinishing floors in accordance with safety and sanitation policies.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintains attractive and clean floors by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, stripping, waxing and buffing floors on a regular basis.
Follows a daily, weekly, and month floor maintenance schedule, as designed by supervisor.
Buffs floor tiles on a regular basis
Cleans and shampoos carpets and rugs on a regular basis as outlined in floor care schedule.
Operates floor care machinery (e.g.; scrubber, buffer, carpet cleaner, etc.) by using safe methods and techniques.
Monitors inventory of floor supplies to ensure the adequate quantities are available to perform daily tasks.
Reports and repairs needed to supervisor.
Cleans and maintains baseboards throughout the facility
Ensures floor equipment is kept clean at all times.
Follows the schedule outlined in the floor care schedule to strip and wax all resident rooms as well as the hall floors and dining room floor(s).
Cleans all types of fluid spills
Participates, as requested, in setting schedules related to floor maintenance.
Performs activities related to ensuring a clean and safe environment as directed by supervisor.
Willingness to rearrange work hours to accommodate floor care during non-crucial times of operation.
During times of inclement weather, you may be pulled to assist in laundry.
Qualifications include:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with other staff, residents and resident family members
Maintains good grooming and personal hygiene.
Must be able to pass this facilities health and drug screen

Flexibility for other tasks and duties as assigned.
