The Associate within Professional Practices will provide support to the supervisor and Head of the Team, including the General Managers of the US office and Tokyo – Head Office, and assist in the execution of the day-to-day activities of the Professional Practices team within our U.S. Internal Audit Office. This includes executing reviews required in the Annual Audit Plan, reviewing baseline Audit Methodologies and Policies across affiliates, and supporting a cross-affiliate Quality Improvement Assurance Program.
In this capacity, this position will:
Interact and work with BTMU (UB and HQA) and our affiliates to coordinate baseline (industry standard) analyses.
Streamline, improve, and integrate audit professional practices.
Participate in regional meetings and working groups to support initiatives.
Represent the firm at roundtable and other peer events.
Provide or assist in methodology and audit platform training.
Produce detailed reports on audit issues and KPIs for senior management and committees.
This role requires a background in practice and methodology development, MIS/reporting, and business administration.
The incumbent is expected to develop into a senior role as an effective project and practices manager, contributing to the advancement and integration of core (audit department) strategic objectives regionally or globally.
They should be an effective business administrator, capable of contributing to the overall strategic (operational) objectives of the audit department.
The candidate should have demonstrated success in developing audit techniques, enhancing productivity, and strategic improvements. They should be able to direct quality and methodology enhancements, possess excellent information presentation skills, and communicate effectively with senior management within and outside the department.
Qualifications:
4-8 years of experience in conducting or managing audit or control functions.
Solid knowledge and experience in developing risk-based audit methodologies, risk assessments, annual planning, risk and control, and quality assurance practices.
Proven track record in project management and coordination efforts.
Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills—covering communications, training, proposals, methodologies, and policies.
Solid knowledge of the audit and banking/financial industry and its risks.
BA/BS degree required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or equivalent.
