Amazon’s World‑Wide Grocery Private Brands NA team is looking for a Packaging Sourcing Manager to join our team. The Packaging Sourcing Manager will engage with internal and external resources to deliver Amazon Grocery Private Brands products customers love. This role is designed to build strategic partnerships that support growth, cost optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have in‑depth knowledge and experience in packaging and sourcing, demonstrate a bias for action, think big, ownership, deliver results, and have strong customer empathy. The candidate will be able to dive deep to gain customer insights, launch successful new products, and develop strong relationships with project stakeholders and suppliers. Attention to detail, excellent communication, consensus‑driving skills, and teamwork are essential. Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments is a must.
Key Job Responsibilities
Deliver front end sourcing activities that support new product development.
Build strategic supplier partnerships.
Create cost models and deliver packaging cost savings across an expansive portfolio.
Drive packaging improvements with the business and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Work hand in hand with Packaging Engineers to deliver end‑to‑end packaging strategies.
Collaborate with third‑party co‑packers to identify opportunities for packaging consolidation or introduce innovative solutions.
Continuously find ways to drive cost out of packaging efforts.
Identify new packaging innovations that unlock new opportunities.
Evaluate vendor prototypes and provide improvements, suggestions or alternative solutions.
Advise senior management on the latest packaging sourcing trends and optimal solutions.
Build and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date sourcing tools for packaging materials and procedures.
Provide technical support for root cause analysis of customer complaints related to packaging.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of developing diverse supplier strategies and executing sourcing activities.
Knowledge of sourcing/procurement, system building and maintenance, vendor management, and customer service.
Experience delivering results for large, cross‑functional initiatives or projects, and a proven impact on business (financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
Knowledge and experience with various packaging substrates, prototype production, and new product development.
Experience managing local and international packaging suppliers.
Experience building and managing cost models, systems, and tools that support sourcing activities.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of Packaging Sourcing Experience, preferably in CPG.
Experience with end‑to‑end packaging and product delivery.
Bachelor's degree in packaging, logistics, transportation, supply chain, or business.
