Strategic Sourcing Manager – Logistics

isresponsible for executing the category management plan for key logisticsservices utilized by Delta Air Lines. These services include parcel,trucking, air & ocean freight forwarding, couriers, charters,warehousing and cargo operations. The role will be supporting stakeholdersacross multiple business units including TechOps (TOC), On Board Services(OBS), Cargo and Airport Customer Service (ACS) with their logisticsstrategies and needs.
The successful candidate must understand the short- and long-term logisticsstrategy to develop and execute commodity sourcing to align with thestrategy. (Commodity is defined as all tangible and intangible elements ofany products or services which Delta utilizes in its business.) Will haveprimary responsibility for leading supplier RFPs, conducting pricinganalysis, negotiations, and presentation to internal stakeholders forselection. This position will work closely with the General Manager indevelopment and execution of the Cargo & Logistics category plan.Responsibilities also include managing the ongoing contract compliance,commercial relationship with suppliers and supplier performance management.
This position will be integrated into the short- andlong-term business unit strategies, develop commodity sourcing strategies,and lead implementation and execution of those strategies.
Managing the day-to-day relationship with strategicsuppliers and internal business units
Delivering year-over-year savings utilizing Requestfor Proposals (RFPs) to evaluate pricing and a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)approach to recommendations.
Assist General Manager in developing award scenariosand Savings Benefits (SBS) based on results of sourcing event / supplierselection
Monitor progress against budget, delivery of benefitstargets, specific category measures, etc.
Assist General Manager with developing supplierselection and negotiation strategies
Track and regularly report on inflation, productivity,and other SCM-wide value drivers related to plan, forecast, and actualresults
Monitor supplier performance and lead correctiveaction procedures when necessary, including scorecard development
Manage and track internal implementation of programsand contract compliance
Partner with Legal and business units to contractservices
Provide development and coaching to direct reports (ifapplicable)
Lead a small team and participate in appropriateworkforce planning, selection and development activities
Utilizing Request for Proposals (RFPs) to evaluatepricing and a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to recommendations.
Participate in key client business meetings (e.g., keyvendor meetings, supplier and business performance meetings, financialplanning meetings)
Effectively work with all organizational levelsrequired
Responsible for identifying category processefficiencies and improvements that yield productivity throughcross-functional collaboration
Provide spend management of category and optimizefinancial spend with insights and analytics
Identify and drive continuous improvement throughmutual innovation and collaboration with business units and supplierpartners

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

At least 3 years of experience in Finance, SupplyChain, Vendor Management, Operations or other closely related field isstrongly preferred.
A demonstrated ability to build relationships andthink strategically and systemically is required.
Proficiency in the following skills is also required:communication, project management, data and financial analysis, consensusbuilding, dealing with ambiguity, presentation, meeting leadership, SAPHANA, and MS Office.
Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self,others, and personal data.
Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high schoolequivalency.
Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization towork in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, SupplyChain or closely related field or 5 plus years of relevant experience
An advanced degree is strongly preferred.
Excels in managing work and timelines.
Proficient in research and analysis, financialanalysis, data analysis, forecasting, strategic sourcing, projectmanagement, root cause analysis, negotiation, contract management,presentation skills, meeting leadership, communication, and value-baseddecision analysis.
Fully competent in financial assessment, consensusbuilding, change management, performance management, team building, resourceplanning and management.
Fully competent in optimizing own capacity,demonstrating openness and self-confidence, driving customer-based businessstrategies, understanding the system, achieving greater results, acceptingand building accountability, using judgment and common sense, and systemicthinking.
