Job Summary:
The CDL Driver/Shipping Associate is a hybrid role responsible for supporting both transportation and warehouse operations. This position operates company vehicles requiring a CDL for local deliveries and pickups while also performing shipping, receiving, and general warehouse duties when not driving. The role is designed to provide operational flexibility and ensure efficient material movement, inventory accuracy, and on‑time deliveries.
Responsibilities
Safely operate company vehicles requiring a CDL to perform local deliveries, pickups, and transfers as scheduled.
Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including unloading inbound freight and preparing outbound shipments.
Verify shipments against packing slips, bills of lading, and purchase orders for accuracy and condition.
Accurately receive materials into inventory systems and ensure proper labeling and storage.
Pick, stage, and prepare materials for production, installation, or outbound shipment.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material‑handling equipment as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and DOT compliance standards.
Support general warehouse operations and assist team members as workload demands.
Qualifications
Valid CDL (Class A or B, based on business need) with a clean driving record.
Ability to meet DOT medical and compliance requirements.
Experience in warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations preferred.
Forklift experience or ability to become certified.
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials in a warehouse environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
Dependable, flexible, and willing to shift between driving and warehouse duties as needed.
Basic computer skills for inventory or shipping systems preferred.
Travel Requirements
This position is required to travel as an essential function of this role due to the need for in‑person interaction with customers, field partners, and/or business stakeholders. Travel may include local, regional, or national destinations and may be conducted via automobile, air, or other modes of transportation. All travel must be pre‑approved in accordance with company policy and conducted in compliance with applicable safety and expense guidelines.
