Intermediate Designer

An Intermediate Designer should have a minimum of six (6) years of professional experience assisting the Project Partner(s) in establishing and executing a design vision for the project that aligns with the client’s mission, schedule, and budget. This includes data collection and review, interpreting, modifying, and preparing design assignments. As an Intermediate Designer, you will work closely with internal and external project teams to facilitate and assist with the overall efforts of project design and delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in facilitating visioning, programming, and space planning analysis, and provide area calculations.
Under the Design Partner’s guidance, demonstrate a strong conceptual design ability and integrate interdisciplinary criteria to effectively move the design of a project component(s) forward.
Enrich and elevate design concepts through technical strategies and effectively use appropriate tools to research, design, and document at all project phases.
Prepare contract documents, including but not limited to floor plans and details, reflected ceiling plans, millwork design, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
Assist in furthering design elements such as spatial layout, color, light, texture, and scale.
Create presentation materials and models for client presentations.
Research and recommend manufacturers and contribute to the selection of colors, finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting for interior applications, ensuring the sustainability goals of the firm are maintained.
Use a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities in an organized, timely, and consistent way.
Contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design.
Manage time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments with regular interaction and direction from project partners.
Be seen as a trusted advisor by the client and a thought leader by colleagues.
Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal communication.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Accredited interior design degree
6-9+ years of professional experience, with a focus on corporate interiors
Proficiency in Revit/BIM required, AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp, Enscape, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite a plus
Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA compliance, construction methods, and materials
Ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including vendors and consultants
Excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills
Strong project management abilities, including budgeting, scheduling, and client management
Experience developing details and producing construction documents from design concepts
Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and delegate tasks effectively
Familiarity with contract and billing procedures
Experience generating and reviewing FF&E budgets
