
Power Systems Engineer

Job Summary
Power Systems Engineers design and analyze electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems including grid interconnections, renewable energy integration, power quality, and protection and control systems for utilities, industrial plants, and infrastructure developers. They apply power flow analysis, short circuit calculation, stability analysis, and protection coordination techniques using tools such as PSS/E, DIgSILENT, and ETAP.
Responsibilities
Design, simulate, and optimize next-generation power systems that integrate high-penetration renewables and AI-driven demand-response mechanisms.
Conduct power flow analysis, short circuit calculation, stability analysis, and protection coordination.
Ensure compliance with EU regulations such as the EU AI Act for automated grid management systems.
Collaborate with Data Scientists, Regulatory Specialists, and Field Operations within the Grid Modernization Department.
Working Conditions
Standard business hours with occasional on-call rotation for critical grid events. Travel required: 15%.
Physical Requirements
Ability to visit substation sites for physical inspections (requires PPE)
Prolonged periods of focused analytical work at a computer terminal
