Job Summary
Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Lab Manager responsible for overseeing production of electronic assemblies from prototype to full‑rate production at Lockheed Martin’s Severn, MD production facility.
Primary Responsibilities
Efficient, on‑time delivery within budget for production of electronic assemblies
Lead production team including inventory/kitting, electro‑mechanical assemblers, cable assemblers, polymerics, machinists, and metal fabrication personnel
Direct day‑to‑day manufacturing activities based on schedule requirements and manage personnel priorities
Report work‑order status to Program Management
Maintain required reports and metrics such as WIP and OTD
Ensure employees conform to required processes and procedures
Oversee all lab maintenance, preventive maintenance, lab supplies/inventory of consumables, and equipment calibration
Manage lab budgets
Hire and determine resources required to execute tasking based on backlog and forecasted work
Personnel management including timesheet approvals, career development, training plans, and annual performance evaluations
Estimate production labor costs and develop schedules
Interface with Test Team, Quality Assurance, and Project Managers
Adhere to health and safety procedures
Support Non‑Conformance/Continual Improvement opportunities
Work closely with Senior Leadership on strategic business initiatives
Support AS9100D internal audits and recurring surveillance audits
Basic Qualifications
Experience overseeing Electronic Manufacturing Services operations in an Aerospace/Space organization
Experience with Production Planning
Experience in Personnel Management
Microsoft Project experience and understanding of resource allocation to meet schedules
Experience with Pricing – labor and material
Teamwork, proven leader
Ability to acquire and maintain a security clearance
Desired Skills
Familiarity with cable assembly processes to IPC‑A‑620 w/space requirements
Familiarity with CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication
Familiar with polymerics and NASA‑STD‑8739.1B
Experience with a quality management system such as AS9100
Prior experience working with space applications
Experience with environmental and reliability testing (shock, vibration, thermal/vacuum)
Experience with Non‑Conformance, Failure Review Boards and Manufacturing Review Boards
Active Secret security clearance

Location & Schedule
Severn, MD – Onsite Full‑time, first shift. Schedule: 9×80 every other Friday off.
