Job Overview
Electrical Engineer – Multiple Positions (Stantec Consulting Services Inc., Denver, CO). Prepare power, automation, and communications system design and analysis for surface and underground mining operations in accordance with applicable codes.

Key Responsibilities

Design fiber‑optic communication networks, PLC/HMI Process Control Systems, and Leaky Feeder cable systems for mining automation and communication.

Plan electrical infrastructure and power distribution systems (35 kV, 25 kV, 15 kV, 5 kV, and 480 V) and motor control.

Develop power system analysis models using ETAP, EasyPower, and/or SKM.

Support mine infrastructure design including switch rooms, messenger, tray, shaft, and borehole cable installations.

Prepare quality reports, calculations, functional testing, capacitive charging current/ground potential rise assessments, and condition assessments.

Assist with mine services process control & instrumentation design: Ore & Waste Handling, Traffic Management, Ore Pass Dumping Controls, Crusher Controls, and Conveyor Synchronization.

Support hoisting system process control, interfaces, ventilation/ventilation‑on‑demand, and process piping systems (dewatering, fuel delivery, compressed air, process water).

Work 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.).

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 5 years post‑bachelor’s experience, OR Master’s degree with 3 years experience.

At least 3 years of experience in: electrical system design codes, mine safety & health regulations, inspections & condition assessments, fiber‑optic network design, PLC/HMI, Leaky Feeder, mine infrastructure design, mine services process control, and use of ETAP, EasyPower, or SKM.

Active U.S. Professional Engineer License.

Authorized Work & Travel
Telecommuting permissible up to 5 days per week. Up to 10% travel across the United States required.

Compensation
Salary $135,762 per year. Final compensation is based on education, qualifications, experience, and location. The role is bonus eligible with potential discretionary bonus.
