Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking a detail‑oriented
Systems Drafter
to support the development and enhancement of NAWDC’s Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) training infrastructure, working onsite at Naval Air Station Fallon, NV. In this role, you will create, update, and maintain
technical drawings, network diagrams, and system schematics
that support the integration of complex military training and simulation systems.
This position is ideal for someone with strong Visio skills, experience producing technical documentation, and the ability to translate engineering input into clear, accurate visual schematics.
Develop and produce technical data packages for networked systems, including JWICS, CNET, CV2, and ISE Networks.
Support engineering efforts related to F‑18, E‑2D, F‑35, and Aegis simulators, ensuring seamless functionality within NAWDC’s LVC environment.
Create and maintain detailed technical drawings and schematics for ancillary connections to supporting buildings and infrastructure.
Utilize Visio daily to generate and refine diagrams, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
Apply mechanical and logic-driven engineering approaches to develop accurate system schematics, evaluate physical‑to‑logical system relationships, and ensure technical drawings reflect both functional and structural design requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper system integration and documentation accuracy.
Maintain strict adherence to security protocols and clearance requirements while handling sensitive technical documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience using Visio in an engineering drafting or design capacity.
Strong proficiency in engineering drafting methodologies, with experience supporting systems integration and technical documentation.
Ability to work onsite full time and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support mission‑critical projects.
Clearance – Must possess and maintain a SECRET clearance.
Preferred Requirements
Clearance – Top Secret Clearance Preferred.
Experience working with military training and simulation environments.
Familiarity with Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) systems and related technologies.
