Job Description
Fairfax Imaging, part of the Embrace portfolio, is a market-leading provider of mission-critical payment and document processing software for government agencies across North America. The platform enables organizations to efficiently process high-volume transactions, including taxes, fees, and remittances. Its cloud-enabled solution, Quick Modules, supports complex workflows such as mail-in processing, electronic payments, cashiering, and title and registration, helping agencies improve accuracy, speed, and operational efficiency.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a QA Analyst to join our team. Asa Functional Tester, you will play a vital role in ensuring the functionalityand usability of software applications by conducting thorough testing andverification activities. Your primary responsibility will be to understandsoftware requirements, develop test cases, and execute tests to validate thebehavior and performance of the application under various scenarios.
Responsibilities
TestPlanning and Execution: Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather andanalyze software requirements. Develop comprehensive test plans, testscenarios, and test cases that cover functional aspects of the application.Execute tests and document test results to identify defects, ensure adherenceto specifications, and validate the overall functionality of the software.
TestCase Development: Design and create test cases based on software requirements,user stories, and functional specifications. Ensure that test cases arewell-defined, accurate, and cover all possible scenarios. Incorporate bothpositive and negative test scenarios to validate expected and unexpected systembehavior.
DefectIdentification and Reporting: Identify, document, and report software defectsusing appropriate defect tracking systems or tools. Clearly communicate defectsto the development team, providing detailed steps to reproduce the issues andany relevant supporting documentation. Follow up on defect resolutions andverify fixes.
RegressionTesting: Perform regression testing to ensure that fixes and enhancements donot introduce new issues or impact existing functionality. Develop and maintaina regression test suite that covers critical system features and conductsperiodic regression testing as required.
TestDocumentation: Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, includingtest plans, test cases, and test reports. Ensure that all testing activitiesand results are properly documented for reference and future use. Contribute tothe improvement of testing processes and documentation standards.
Collaborationand Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, includingdevelopers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure a clearunderstanding of requirements and effective communication throughout thetesting process. Participate in meetings, provide testing updates, and offerinsights and suggestions for process improvement.
QualityAssurance: Contribute to the improvement of quality assurance processes andmethodologies. Identify opportunities for test automation, performance testing,or other testing techniques to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness offunctional testing activities.

Requirements
Bachelor’sDegree (B.A.) from a four year university is preferred.
At least 4+years of functional testing experience is preferred.
3+ years ofSQL knowledge.
Proficientin reviewing a Design Document and creating test cases with detailed steps ofexecution.
Experiencewith tax forms is a plus.
Experience with AI tools, Playwright, and test automation frameworks.
Solidexperience in functional testing of software applications, preferably in anagile development environment.
Strongunderstanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and bestpractices.
Familiaritywith test management tools and defect tracking systems (e.g., Jira, TestRail).
Excellentanalytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Ability todevelop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
Knowledge ofdifferent testing techniques, including black-box testing, boundary valueanalysis, and equivalence partitioning.
Strongcommunication skills to effectively collaborate with team members andstakeholders.
Ability toprioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
