What You Will Do
Performs entry level of accounting activities; analyzes and prepares studies and reports related to ratemaking or regulatory filings, regulatory accounting, and/or billing: and supports efforts related to rate recovery and compliance with applicable rules, tariffs and regulations.
Prepare information for reports, exhibits, and analysis related to rate filings, legislative pronouncements, regulatory tariffs and orders, finance, accounting, taxation, and billing related issues.
Perform calculations and/or analysis including:
Cost of service studies
Financial ratios
Rate/tariff schedules
Regulatory compliance
Assist in review of applicable computer programs used in rates, finance, customer billing, and various regulatory or accounting activities.
Calculate reports related to and including:
Governmental/regulatory reports
Cost of gas
Peer company rate comparisons
Tariff applications within the billing process
Special projects
Compile information for governmental and/or regulatory agencies, management, project teams, customers, and others relative to regulatory reporting, accounting processes, and various financial reports.
Assists others with the preparation of written testimony and oral testimony to State and Local regulatory bodies related to rate cases, legislative, pronouncements, regulatory orders, regulatory tariffs, and finance, accounting, taxation, and/or billing related issues.
Assist with the preparation and processing of responses to discovery requests in regulatory or legal proceedings.
Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Will Need
Minimum Bachelor's Degree accounting, finance, economics, business administration, statistics or other related discipline strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and practices.
Experience with the application of math, advanced algebra, and statistics.
Working knowledge of regulatory, economic and accounting analysis.
Demonstrated ability in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
Working knowledge and training related to:
Company and industry activity and =research and studies
Report analysis, evaluation, and preparation
Correspondence concerning impact of standards, regulations, and legislation on company operating income, finances, accounting processes, and market position
Rate schedule development
Communication/interpersonal skills
Working knowledge reading and interpreting internal and external correspondence, governmental regulations, reports, financial reports, accounting and tax‑related publications, contracts, manuals, and computer printouts.
Experience interacting and communicating effectively.
Develop and present information to management, individuals, and groups.
Read and write fluently in English.
Mobility to travel in and out of state.
Operate office tools and equipment applicable to job.
Communicate and exchange information or instructions and conduct oral presentations.
Visual ability to perform job responsibilities.
