Food & Beverage Supervisor - Full Time Seasonal
The Lakefront, Anchorage hotel (formerly the Millennium Hotel) is recruiting for a full‑time seasonal Food & Beverage Supervisor to join our team. At the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, we strive to deliver a memorable experience for our guests. Situated on the shores of scenic Lake Spenard, one mile from Anchorage International Airport and four miles from downtown Anchorage, the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel is the perfect starting point to explore the many wonders Alaska has to offer. The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel boasts 248 rooms and three outstanding food and beverage outlets.
Typical Duties
Assist in managing the staff
Ensures a high standard of food presentation and that it is presented in a timely manner.
Oversees training of new employees.
Assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency of operations.
Supervises serving of meals and beverages to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Inspects food and beverage areas and equipment to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions.
Responsible for maintaining cash bank.
Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
Directly supervises employees in the Restaurant Departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Complete all tasks for the opening and closing of the restaurant(s).
Qualifications and Expectations
Must be able to remain professional in all guests or employee interactions
Must have problem‑solving skills, thinking outside the box to resolve customer complaints and lessen the financial impact on the food and beverage department.
Work as a valuable member of the team by resolving conflicts without blame.
Must be flexible, adaptable, and dependable based on the needs of the hotel.
Patience, tact, and diplomacy.
Required to regularly lift 20–40 pounds.
Prior hospitality experience preferred. Ability to obtain TIPS certification is required.
Guest attentiveness and a neat appearance.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Work as a productive team member by contributing positive energy.
Perform the duties of the position in a safe manner.
Be professional in all interactions with guests and associates.
Current food handlers’ card and Taps card.
At least a high school education.
