
Supervisor, Environmental Svcs - FT (varied shift) MMC

Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Supervisor for the Environmental Services Department (Housekeeping) at Morristown Medical Center. Required hours vary (variable shift based on department needs/volume), including weekends.
Responsibilities
Arrange with the Environmental Services Manager for any special activity functions such as auditoriums and other set‑up etc.
Receive work assignments from the Manager.
Establish a daily work schedule for the staff in conjunction with the Manager for special and routine assignments.
Assign duties to the staff, issue supplies and equipment, and inspect completed work.
Work with the staff.
Maintain established standards of cleanliness within patient and other hospital areas.
Train employees by demonstrating use of cleaning material and equipment; explain methods of cleaning and the most economical use of materials and manpower.
Participate in the performance appraisal of employees as well as personnel actions (i.e., hours changes, terminations, salary changes, etc.).
Apply knowledge of all job assignments and cleaning procedures and use of equipment in the work assignment.
Apply knowledge of isolation techniques and follow up to assure that sanitation and safety regulations are followed.
Coordinate the removal of trash from grounds and entrances and inspect these areas daily.
Report the need for repairs and maintenance; follow up for completion.
Qualifications
HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Bachelor's Degree a plus.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Must be able to bend, lift, push, and pull at least 50 lbs.
Must be able to be on your feet for an extended period of time.
Relevant Experience
Great customer service/people skills preferred.
1–2 years of hospital housekeeping experience; worked as a hospital housekeeper preferred.
2–3 years of housekeeping supervisory/management experience in an acute‑care hospital environment preferred.
Strong computer (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) skills required.
