in Patuxent River, MD. The
Communications Network Engineer
will be responsible for administering, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise LAN/BAN/WAN environments while supporting network modernization and operational continuity for critical missions. Join a team where your networking expertise directly supports national security initiatives.
Responsibilities
Evaluating communication hardware and software to ensure optimal network performance and reliability
Troubleshooting and resolving LAN/BAN/WAN and other network‑related issues across enterprise environments
Administering Layer 2/3 routing and switching in complex network infrastructures
Supporting network integrations, testing, conversions, and scheduled cutovers
Coordinating with end users, technical teams, and multiple sites to ensure successful network operations
Required Qualifications
4 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments
Experience with Layer 2/3 routing, switching, and LAN/BAN/WAN technologies
Strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with large‑scale integrated networks
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field of study
Active Secret clearance
Must possess an IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ CE)
Must possess an OEM network support certification such as CCNA (preferred)
Willingness to travel as required
Compensation
Salary Range: Competitive depending on experience
