Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a

Piping Designer/Engineer

to support industrial projects within oil & gas and petrochemical facilities. This position is responsible for developing piping and mechanical design deliverables, supporting field data collection, and coordinating with engineering and operations teams to ensure safe and accurate project execution. This is a temporary assignment with potential for extension.

Essential Duties:

Develop piping and mechanical design deliverables including equipment layouts, piping isometrics, plot plans, general arrangement drawings, and bills of materials

Support brownfield, capital, and Management of Change (MOC) projects within upstream, midstream, downstream, or petrochemical facilities

Collect field data and verify site conditions to support design development

Work directly with operations, technicians, and project teams to define project scope and requirements

Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet project specifications and requirements

Review and update equipment drawings, including vendor-supplied documentation

Perform quality checks and validation of final design deliverables prior to submission

Utilize AutoCAD (2D) and 3D modeling software (Aveva 3D) to develop and review designs

Communicate project requirements with document control, operations, and engineering teams

Ensure compliance with all site safety policies and procedures while working in the field or office

Participate in design reviews and support project execution through completion

Requirements/Skills:

Minimum of 15+ years of experience in piping and mechanical design within oil & gas, petrochemical, or downstream facilities

Strong experience developing piping layouts, isometrics, and general arrangement drawings

Demonstrated experience supporting brownfield, capital, and MOC projects

Working knowledge of piping and mechanical design codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII, Division 1, TEMA, and applicable API standards

Familiarity with Texas industry codes and standards preferred

Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and Aveva 3D modeling software

Ability to coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines and manage design changes

Experience working with vendor drawings and equipment documentation

Strong communication and organizational skills

Associate Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Piping Design required

Physical Requirements:

Ability to work safely in industrial field environments

Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at elevated heights when required

Ability to walk, stand, and perform field data collection activities

Ability to work independently at job sites while following all safety protocols

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
