About the Role
The Company is seeking an AVP - Corporate Reporting to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the review and preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated US GAAP financial statements, as well as assisting in the company's IFRS reporting. This role involves leading the consolidation process and reporting for the company's entities, managing the corporate reporting team, and providing guidance to less experienced team members. The AVP will also be at the forefront of researching FASB and IFRS developments, drafting relevant accounting policies, and ensuring the company's financial statements are in line with the latest reporting requirements.
Applicants for the AVP - Corporate Reporting position at the company should have 5-10 years' of experience in accounting for insurance, either within public accounting or an insurance company. The role requires a deep understanding of US GAAP and IFRS, as well as experience in leading the review of the consolidated tax provision. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in maintaining financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley, and be adept at developing and maintaining departmental controls and consistent procedures. A key aspect of the role is the ability to identify and implement process improvements, so a proactive approach to enhancing the company's financial statement process is essential. The AVP will also be expected to provide financial reports and analysis as needed, and to keep management updated on financial reporting requirements and trends.
