Key Responsibilities
* Clinical Care: Perform thorough dental cleanings (prophylaxis), periodontal scaling, and root planing.
* Diagnostics: Take high-quality digital X-rays and intraoral photos; assist the dentist in screenings for oral cancer and gum disease.
* Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, the link between oral and systemic health, and post-treatment care.
* Preventative Treatments: Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants as needed.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed patient records
* Sterilization: Ensure all instruments are sterilized and the operatory meets OSHA and CDC infection control standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Licensure: Valid State Board Dental Hygiene License.
* Certification: Current CPR/BLS certification.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental) and digital radiography.
* Communication: Ability to explain complex clinical information in a friendly, easy-to-understand manner.
* Reliability: Since this is a 2-day-a-week role, consistency and punctuality are essential for maintaining our patient schedule.
