As an Inspector II, you will support the successful delivery of infrastructure projects by performing field inspections, verifying construction compliance with plans and specifications, and serving as a key liaison between contractors, project managers, and stakeholders. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative project team.

Core Responsibilities for the Role:

Perform daily field inspections to ensure construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, and applicable standards
Monitor contractor work for quality, safety, and adherence to project requirements
Document construction activities through detailed daily reports, photographs, and quantity tracking
Verify materials used and work performed meet project and regulatory requirements
Coordinate with Construction Managers, engineers, and contractors to address field issues and clarify design intent
Review and track quantities for pay applications and maintain accurate records
Observe and document testing activities (e.g., compaction, concrete, asphalt) and ensure compliance with specifications
Identify non-conforming work and communicate deficiencies to appropriate parties for resolution
Attend and support project meetings, providing updates on field progress and issues
Assist with project closeout activities, including punch lists and final inspections
Maintain a strong commitment to safety and follow all established safety protocols
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
36 years of construction inspection experience, preferably in transportation or infrastructure projects
Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and inspection practices
Experience with DOT or public agency projects is preferred
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and standard drawings
Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions within established guidelines
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction documentation software
Relevant certifications (e.g., ACI, ATSSA, LabCAT, OSHA) are preferred or ability to obtain
