Job Summary
ABC7 Los Angeles seeks a dynamic Weekend Reporter/Fill-in Anchor to join the Eyewitness News team. The ideal candidate is an experienced on-air reporter/anchor with a demonstrated track record of success both on-air and behind the scenes as a newsroom leader and contributor. They will serve as a lead reporter in the field and may fill in on the anchor desk on any shift, upholding the integrity of the station at all times.
This role is considered on-site; the employee will work from a Company designated location on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities
Exceptional reporting, writing and interviewing skills
Fill in for anchors on a variety of shifts
Expertly handle live breaking news on the anchor desk and in the field
Active use of social media for promotion and news gathering
Collaborate with producers and managers before, during and after shows, always looking for ways to improve, evolve and innovate storytelling from the studio or field
Create unique and shareable stories for television, digital, social and streaming
Participate in community and station public events
Basic Qualifications
Multiple market experience (including anchoring in top market)
Strong journalist and storyteller
Ability to present active and engaging live shots
Work well under deadline pressure
Schedule flexibility and ability to work holidays
Preferred Qualifications
Past experience as investigative journalist
Ability to shoot, edit and publish
Experience with Adobe Premiere and/or Dalet One-Cut
Bilingual
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree

Salary and Benefits
The hiring range for this SAG-AFTRA role in Glendale, CA is $120,000 to $145,000 per year. The base pay may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The role may also include additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts. Select benefits may be provided as part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
