
Survey Crew Chief

3D Land Surveying is seeking an experienced Survey Party Chief to join a growing small business in East Tennessee. The successful candidate will lead field crews across a variety of land surveying projects in the region. Come join us as we grow and offer exciting new opportunities in surveying.
Responsibilities
Lead and direct field survey crews in the safe and efficient execution of boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys
Perform boundary retracement using metes-and-bounds deed descriptions, recovering and setting monuments in accordance with Tennessee Standards of Practice
Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control
Collect, verify, and organize field data with accuracy and completeness
Maintain clear and organized field notes and as-built documentation
Operate UAV/drone equipment in support of survey operations
Communicate job status and progress regularly to project management
Maintain assigned survey vehicle and equipment in proper working order
Mentor crew members in field techniques and safe work practices
Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations
Required Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief
Proficiency with Trimble GNSS and robotic total station equipment preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to manage field crew logistics
Preferred Experience
LSIT or actively working toward licensure
FAA Part 107; must obtain within 90 days of hire if not currently held
Additional Requirements
Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license in order to operate company vehicle
Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening
Must be dependable and self-directed in the field
