Your role and responsibilities
The Maximo Project Manager is responsible for leading end‑to‑end implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects for the IBM Maximo asset management platform. This role oversees project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. The Project Manager guides cross‑functional teams, manages client expectations, mitigates risks, and ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Success in this role requires strong leadership, deep understanding of Maximo capabilities, and the ability to manage complex projects in asset‑intensive environments.
Lead full lifecycle Maximo projects from requirements gathering and solution design through configuration, testing, cutover, go‑live, and post‑deployment support
Develop detailed project plans including WBS, schedules, resource plans, cost estimates, and risk mitigation strategies
Direct project prioritization, estimation, quality control, and governance for Maximo workstreams
Facilitate client meetings and workshops, ensuring clear alignment between business needs and technical requirements
Provide regular status reporting to internal leadership and client stakeholders
Drive adherence to project management best practices, including PMP methodologies and Agile frameworks
Coordinate cross‑functional teams including developers, architects, functional analysts, and business SMEs
Identify project risks and issues, drive resolution, and ensure proactive communication
Stay current on Maximo product releases, industry trends, and best practices to guide solution decisions
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to methodology enhancements

Required technical and professional expertise
Minimum of 7 years of project management experience, including delivery of at least three full‑cycle IBM Maximo projects
Hands‑on experience applying both traditional (PMP) and Agile methodologies to Maximo programs
Prior experience serving as a SCRUM Master, Product Owner, or technical lead within Maximo projects
Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and mentor junior team members
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, able to address issues across people, process, and technology
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts for technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Preferred technical and professional experience
IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Maximo Asset Management or equivalent certification
Experience in asset‑intensive industries such as utilities, transportation, oil and gas, or manufacturing
Familiarity with project management tools including MS Project, Jira, or equivalent platforms
Experience with client-focused, complex consulting and implementation-centric engagements, handling tasks independently and effectively managing stakeholder expectations
Independent Task Management: Ability to work independently on tasks, utilizing expertise in IBM Maximo to drive high‑quality technical implementation and deliver successful outcomes.
