About the Role
As Digital Marketing Manager, you will use data-driven storytelling to support Frieze in nurturing a global community of supporters for the galleries, artists and writers that take part in our world-class events and content.
This is a full-time permanent role and qualified candidates must be based in London.
What You'll Own:
We are looking for someone with a keen interest in Lifecycle Marketing to look after the digital touchpoints that keep our members, subscribers and wider community of collectors and art professionals engaged.
As a developing manager, you will work directly with the Global Marketing Director to refine your strategic thinking around CRM logic and paid media at a global scale.
The key pillars of the role are:
Growth & Lifecycle Marketing
Copywriting: Write and deploy engaging monthly and pre-fair newsletters to Frieze Connect members/prospects that reflect our brand voice.
Email Marketing Ops: Make sure Mailchimp automated email journeys (e.g., welcome series, membership renewals), integrations, tags, and audience health are flawless, with the support of our partners and technical teams.
Data Segmentation: Manage audience lists to ensure the right customers are receiving invites, renewal and step-up processes are completed successfully, and the right message reaches the right people.
Analytics: Provide monthly reports on membership and subscription KPIs, alongside insights to optimise our overall performance across all email campaigns.
Budgeting:
Manage annual marketing budgets for Frieze Connect, subscriptions and frieze magazine promotion.
Paid Performance & Creative
Campaign Management: Build and manage paid campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads (Search/Display), and partner platforms – including for advertisers aiming to engage with Frieze’s global community
Creative Oversight: Brief the design team on ad assets and write punchy, conversion-oriented ad copy.
People Management
Direct Line Management: Lead, mentor, and oversee the daily activities of the Senior Membership Services Executive, providing clear direction on membership data stewardship and customer service.
Collaborative Development: Foster an inclusive environment for your direct report, offering regular feedback and identifying opportunities for them to develop in their role.
Key Results Areas
Improve and maintain a high-performing email lifecycle infrastructure, including automated user journeys, that drives consistent engagement across the VIP and member/subscriber databases
Membership and subscription acquisitions and renewals
Effective management of campaign setups and optimisation for paid digital media
What You'll Bring:
Knowledge and Experience
Mid-level experience in Lifecycle/Loyalty Marketing and digital marketing platforms, with an interest in managing customer journeys across acquisition, conversion, retention and loyalty
Technical: High familiarity with CRM systems, Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads and Email Service Providers (ESPs) like Mailchimp
Excellent organisational skills, especially the ability to prioritise workload and to work flexibly
Computer literate and numerate, with the ability to manage data, analyse statistical research findings, budgeting etc
An interest in art.
