Position
DMG is actively recruiting for a licensed Clinical Psychologist to join our Psychology Department at Valleywise Behavioral Health Centers (hospital campuses in Mesa, Phoenix, and Maryvale), to provide services to our hospitalized, and primarily seriously mentally ill, patients.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will exhibit flexibility, effective communication skills, and an ability to thrive in a consultative role at each campus.
Psychologists within the department administer scores, interpret psychologist tests, and write comprehensive yet concise reports of test results, clinical interview, and collateral sources of information. Common consultations involve psychological assessment of personality, cognition, intelligence, and diagnosis of patients within the hospital. Psychologists in our inpatient setting play a pivotal role in developing behavior plans for patients, working as part of an interdisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, other psychologists, psychiatry nurse practitioners, psychiatry RNs and social workers. Other responsibilities for psychologists within the department may be determined by an applicant’s background, knowledge, and experience with teaching, research, or other specific areas of interest.
A faculty appointment to the Creighton University and University of Arizona Schools of Medicine in Phoenix is also available.
