General Laborer
The Vallejo Company is a fast growing underground utility construction company in the Cleveland, Ohio area providing service in gas, water/sewer, concrete/asphalt and boring.
The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project. The list of duties and responsibilities for a laborer on any given day may include the following:
Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
Flagging and maintenance of traffic
Installation of utilities and restoration of hard and soft ground cover
Hand digging/investigation to locate hidden utilities
Driving company vehicles, running small machinery and power tools
Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties
General Operator
Exact duties can depend on a heavy equipment operator's specialization. Some common responsibilities include:
Operation of heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
Ensure company equipment is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
Digging, backfilling and compaction of trench lines
General Teamsters
Pulling trailers, hauling equipment and material to and from job sites
Maintenance of a Class A CDL
Operation of Quad Axel and Larger Trucks
Hauling of construction debris to the dump
Fueling and providing basic up keep and maintenance of trucks
The Vallejo Company is part of Operators 18, Laborers 860 and Teamsters 436 and ask our applicants be in these unions or willing to join them for these roles. If you are not part of a union and have little to no experience, but still want to join our team, please advise and complete our apprenticeship application.
