The La Quinta Country Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Merchandiser to lead and elevate the retail experience within our private club environment. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a refined eye for luxury presentation, a deep understanding of golf retail trends, and a passion for delivering exceptional, personalized service to an exclusive membership. This position is structured as a year‑round role; however, the Club is open to considering a seasonal arrangement for the right candidate.
Experience Required
Minimum of 3+ years of merchandising experience, preferably within high‑end private golf clubs or luxury retail environments
Proven expertise in premium golf apparel, accessories, and hard goods
Strong background in delivering elevated member or client service with a focus on personalized shopping experiences
Exceptional visual merchandising skills with a keen eye for detail and brand presentation
Demonstrated ability to analyze sales trends and manage inventory effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a polished and professional demeanor
Ability to build lasting relationships with a discerning clientele
Experience working in private clubs or similar hospitality environments strongly preferred
Essential Responsibilities
Curate and manage a high‑end retail assortment aligned with member preferences and current luxury golf trends
Operate across all aspects of the Golf Shop and its operations beyond retail
Work closely with the Head Golf Professional on the merchandising strategy, visual presentation, and inventory management
Deliver personalized shopping experiences, including one‑on‑one styling and special orders
Build strong relationships with members to anticipate needs and preferences
Collaborate with golf operations and leadership to support club events and initiatives
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate product selections
Train and mentor golf staff to be knowledgeable and uphold exceptional service standards regarding merchandise
Provide creative sales techniques to enhance member retail experience
Benefits
Annual salary: Starting at $70,304, commensurate with experience
Bonus potential based on performance and sales
