Construction Inspector Transit and Rail
GFT is seeking Construction Inspectors Transit and Rail to join our Construction Services team for upcoming projects in the New Jersey area. This role presents an exciting opportunity to be an important part of critical construction efforts for large-scale transit and rail projects in New Jersey.

What you'll be challenged to do:
As a Construction Inspector, you will support the construction management team by performing field observations focused on transit and rail projects across New Jersey. You will monitor quality, safety, and compliance on active rail corridors, stations, and related infrastructure, working closely with CM staff to address issues that impact operations, service reliability, and public safety.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Performing field observations focused on safety, quality, and procedural compliance
Spot checking work crews to confirm up-to-date documentation is maintained onsite
Reporting findings and observations to the construction management team
Supporting a range of transportation and infrastructure projects, including roadway, bridge, rail, and utility work
Coordinating with field staff and contractors to maintain safe and compliant job sites
Covering one or multiple project sites based on project complexity and activity levels
Education | Experience:
High School Diploma
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is preferred
Minimum of 2-10 years of construction inspection experience, with strong rail experience.
Familiarity with general construction practices, safety procedures, and field documentation requirements
Exposure to rail, roadway, bridge, and utility construction is preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across New Jersey
Certifications such as NICET II to IV, TCC, NJSAT, ACI is preferred
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $175,000; Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
