Facilities Maintenance Worker
Perform a variety of facilities maintenance work to include grounds and mechanical general type duties in support of physical plant summer tasks throughout college-owned facilities.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will vary depending on the trades in each department such as Grounds and Mechanical.
Operations Mechanical
Ladder climbing Stair climbing Standing Bending Able to lift 50 lbs. Paint smells Closed shoes Working in both indoor and outdoor spaces which may include high temperature and dusty conditions.
Grounds
Staff are required to wear closed-toed shoes and should dress appropriately for the weather Work can be physically demanding - Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. Standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling required Experience with or a willingness to learn equipment including hand tools, mowers, weed eaters, and loppers preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to understand and read written and verbal instructions and follow through. Ability to interact positively with a wide variety of customers. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Working Conditions:
Indoor and outdoor environment with warm temperatures in the summer time. Standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Safety gear may be required for work with chemicals and equipment. Ability to climb multiple stairs.
