
Director, Corporate Commercial Finance & Syndications Product Lead

Primary Responsibilities
Extensive travel is required. In office 4-5 days per week when not traveling for client meetings.
Generates strong revenue production over a sustained period of time
Leads proactive idea generation
Develops internal and external client relationships
Partners with Regions’ relationship managers to bring proactive ideas/insights to clients and identifies strategic advisory opportunities
Presents capital markets recommendations to existing clients and prospects
Leads debt financing processes from initial engagement through closing, including negotiating, structuring, financial modeling and legal documentation
Participates in the education of relationship managers on advisory opportunities and product solutions
Communicates and partners with core and extended client team members
Trains junior team members on transaction structuring and execution
Participates in the recruitment, development and training of junior resources
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from a reputable undergraduate college/university
Seven (7) years experience in capital markets, leveraged finance, and/or investment banking (i.e., M&A)
Should have Series 79 & 63 licenses OR be able to obtain them within six (6) months of employment
Skills and Competencies
Proven ability to originate, structure, and execute capital markets business
Effective partnership with the broader Syndicated Finance team and Loan Sales team when executing syndications opportunities
Capable of identifying and qualifying M&A and financial risk management opportunities for referral to the respective business units
Exposure to ISDA standards
Efficient and effective resource management related to new opportunities including resource deployment for pitches, screens, and deal approvals
Broad knowledge of the capital markets and current trends
Deep understanding of the syndicated loan market, including current trends and market norms
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, including extensive credit acumen
Strong credit selectivity skills in line with Regions’ risk management parameters and guidelines, especially regarding leveraged/sponsored opportunities
Ability to champion/present credit to risk management and the transaction screening committee without material senior level oversight
Proven track record and credibility with risk management partners showing appropriate stewardship of capital
Credibility with industry banking teams, the financial risk management team, and BlackArch/Clearsight professionals
Robust legal documentation expertise
Strong negotiation, written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Positive general management/leadership skills and principles
Effective ability to lead by example and manage a deal team, including an established record of training/mentoring VPs, Associates, and Analysts in all aspects of capital markets process management and financial/credit analysis

Incentive Pay Plans:
This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive plan. Employees have the potential to receive a discretionary award based on performance against defined metrics and goals. Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
