Responsibilities

Design, develop, and operate applications that power Apple Games and in‑game experiences for games integrated with the GameKit framework
Partner with teams across Apple to develop and ship new customer‑facing features
Drive project execution from design reviews to production releases
Deploy, scale, and maintain highly concurrent and throughput‑intensive services
Triage, investigate, and remediate production and operational issues
Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of experience developing and operating production services in Java
Strong design skills; familiar with algorithms and data structures
Experience with Distributed Systems or Database Internals
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent degree
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with client–server application development
Experience working on applications that power end‑user experiences
Experience in driving large cross‑functional projects that require stakeholder alignment
NoSQL databases such as Cassandra, FoundationDB
Great teammate; you’re articulate, and you can explain complex concepts to anybody.
Persistence and investigative spirit; you won’t let go of a problem or requirement until you understand it, inside and out; you can lead a project from the definition to its successful deployment
Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
