
Pricing & Business Process Strategy Intern

We are seeking a highly structured, process-oriented Pricing & Business Process Strategy Intern to help design a scalable, repeatable pricing decision process for a growing professional services business. Today, pricing decisions are made through a combination of experience, judgment, and ad hoc inputs. This role will focus on bringing clarity, consistency, and governance to how pricing decisions are made across the organization.
This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys mapping how work actually happens, identifying breakdowns, and designing practical operating models that leadership teams can adopt and scale.
Essential Functions
Work directly with company leadership to evaluate the current-state pricing process and design a future‑state operating model.
Current‑State Process Assessment
Document how pricing decisions are currently made end‑to‑end
Identify stakeholders involved, decision points, handoffs, and approvals
Surface inconsistencies, bottlenecks, rework, and informal practices
Review how pricing inputs (costs, margins, risk, market factors) are gathered and used
Future‑State Process & Operating Model Design
Design a clear, repeatable pricing decision workflow
Define roles and responsibilities (who inputs, who decides, who approves)
Establish decision criteria, guardrails, and escalation paths
Recommend governance mechanisms to ensure consistency and accountability
Identify opportunities to standardize, template, or automate parts of the process
Change Enablement & Documentation
Create clear process maps, decision trees, and playbooks
Develop practical guidance leadership can use to roll out the new process
Support executive discussions by translating analysis into actionable recommendations
Deliverables You’ll Own
Current‑state vs. future‑state process maps
Establish pricing framework to maximize and drive margin generation
Roles & responsibilities matrix (RACI or similar)
Executive‑ready summary and implementation roadmap
Requirements
Current MBA candidate or recent MBA graduate
Comfortable working cross‑functionally through ambiguity and organizational complexity
Strong analytical and structured problem‑solving skills
Ability to synthesize qualitative input into clear processes
Experience with process mapping, finance, or strategy is a plus
Strong Excel and presentation skills
The expected salary range for this position is $20.00‑$25.00 an hour.
