Position Overview
Join our Editorial team this summer to take part in editing, review, and publication work at a youth-focused think tank.
The Editorial Intern will contribute to the think tank’s publication efforts by reviewing drafts, assisting with editing, and helping prepare written work for publication. The role is designed as a learning experience centered on editing, written communication, and editorial review.
Interns will work with submissions from fellows, scholars, and contributors across the think tank’s regional programs.
Responsibilities
Copyedit and proofread articles, op-eds, essays, and policy briefs before publication
Fact-check drafts and verify names, dates, quotations, and other factual references
Review submissions for compliance with the think tank’s editorial standards
Provide editorial feedback and recommend revisions on draft submissions
Prepare edited drafts for publication
Qualifications
Current undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university
GPA of 3.5 or higher preferred
Strong writing and editing skills
Strong attention to detail
Prior experience in editing, publishing, or journalism is preferred but not required
Compensation
Interns will receive a fixed stipend of
$2,500 for the summer term , paid in installments. This is not an hourly wage position.
Time Commitment
Interns should expect to dedicate approximately
15 to 20 hours per week
to the internship. Work is completed on a flexible schedule outside of the weekly meeting.

Experience applying editorial standards to draft submissions
Participation in discussions and learning activities with fellows and directors across regional programs
