Responsibilities
Review and analyze documentation for prospective primary and secondary credit investment opportunities, including CLOs and other structured and corporate credit products;
Negotiate complex legal and commercial terms on behalf of the investment team across a range of credit transactions;
Support Eagle Point’s leadership in developing and adopting new market provisions across structured credit and broader credit markets;
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on investment managers and counterparties, focusing on investment process, performance, legal risk, and personnel risk;
Manage and develop relationships with dealers, collateral managers, issuers, and other key market participants;
Collaborate with Client Solutions and Investor Relations to develop marketing and investor-facing materials across credit strategies;
Partner with analytics and internal teams to track, organize, and maintain documentation for primary and secondary credit offerings;
Engage with industry groups, including the NAIC, SEC, SFA, and LSTA, on regulatory and market developments affecting credit markets; and
Participate in Investment Committee meetings and provide input on strategic transactions and broader credit investment decisions.
Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from an ABA 100 Law School;
2 - 5 years’ experience as external or internal counsel in any of leverage lending, ABS, CLOs, securities law, secured transactions, corporate law, restructuring, derivatives or other similar practice areas
Proficient presentation skills, including the ability to present findings clearly and concisely;
High attention to detail; and
Ability to work well in a small, team environment.
