FlexStaff is seeking a Senior Accountant with manufacturing and cost accounting experience for our client, a manufacturing company in Melville, NY.

This is a permanent, direct hire, full-time position on-site at their location in Melville.
The Senior Accountant will perform general and cost accounting functions. Provides program cost analysis. Prepares analyses as well as accounting reports according to GAAP.
Responsibilities
Provide technical advice and guidance according to Federal/State Regulations and GAAP.
Gather financial information to prepare journal entries
Prepare monthly & quarterly financial package
Responsible for monthly detailed analysis of major GL accounts.
Gather information and prepares various audits and gov’t surveys.
Maintain intercompany billing and reconciliation.
Weekly and monthly Cash Forecasts.
Support, review, & reporting of program finance EACs, ETCs, Manpower Requirements, & Material Disbursement.
Provide ongoing visibility regarding the current and forecasted status of program cost and schedules through in-depth qualitative/quantitative analysis of performance vs. plan data
Prep of various program control plans and reports, financial summaries, and related activities for Program Management
Evaluation of programs at each stage to ensure that cost and financial activities of the program team, including contractual obligations, are being met
Participate in new business proposals, project projections, and analysis of requirements
Responsible for running monthly closing (in Costpoint)
Monitor & record capital equipment (fixed assets)
Costpoint employee timesheet approval backup
ADP WFN Payroll backup
Maintain a positive work environment by professional and courteous conduct and communications with others, including supervisors, co-workers, clients, and vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Accounting or equivalent with 9 years or Master’s degree with a minimum of 7 years with 9 years general accounting experience within a manufacturing environment. xywuqvp
Costpoint, ERP systems and Microsoft Office proficiency
Costpoint experience highly preferred
Financial Planning & Analysis experience
Government accounting experience highly preferred
EVMS a plus
